Marijke

Violin

Marijke Tjoelker received her first violin lessons at the age of seven. From 2007-2017 she studied at the Hochschule für Künste Utrecht, where she finished her bachelor’s degree ‘cum laude’. In 2013 she won the ‘Burgemeester de Bruinprijs’ and the first prize at the Hochschulewettbewerb of the Hochschule für Künste Bremen. One year later, with professor Thomas Klug, she finished her master’s degree in Bremen. She performed with various orchestras, including the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonic Bremen, Ensemble Resonanz, the EUYO, and, as a concertmaster, with the Young Northern German Philharmonics and Ensemble Reflektor.

Today she is an active chamber music player with Puls Ensemble and RadialQuartett. Also, she is a member of Ensemble Reflektor. Furthermore, with the baroque violin as well as with contemporary music, she feels very comfortable.
